Galeria Adelmo is proud to present the “Cuban Roots” art exhibition by Miami based artist, Ramses Llufrio. The exhibition will open with an artist’s reception on Friday, April 27, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm and it will be on view until May 22, 2018.
His latest solo art exhibition, “Cuban Roots” will showcase a variety of Mr. Llufrio’s masterful paintings from the countryside of Cuba. Bask in the refreshing light and color of his works portraying scenic views of Cuba from a fresh perspective.
“Cuban Roots” will look to bring the vibrancy of this rich Cuban culture to Galeria Adelmo in Little Havana in order to unearth the hidden treasures of this enriching land and in doing so reveal the common beauty that we all share, whether in Cuba or here in the United States. Ramses Llufrio is a Cuban artist who was selftaught from a very early age as he started to take its first steps in painting. At first, preferring pencils and brushes over the usual toys. As he developed his craft during the early stages of his career he exhibited in different competitions and festivals of his hometown, Cotorro, and in different Houses of Culture and TV shows in Cuba. While still a teenager he emigrated with his mother and brother in 1992 to the United States. In 1994 Ramses traveled to New Orleans to learn from an uncle the art of the goldsmith; then returned to Miami to settle permanently and continued to paint.
Mr. Llufrio’s landscapes are excellent; his oil paintings transmit the whisper of rivers and the gentle breezes that dance with the branches of their trees. Palms, … those brides waiting… occupy a top place in his work, perhaps inherited from the great landscape of the largest of the Antilles. Ramses has exhibited in many of the upscale galleries and art centers throughout South Florida and the Greater Miami region. His works have been showcased in Art Basel, Wynwood, and other high end art marketplaces for several years. Ramses’s art is fresh, genuine and unique; he is definitely a rising emerging artist that paints daily. He exudes a robust spirit and his breathtaking paintings that have been noticed and appreciated by many in Cuba and the United States.
Galeria Adelmo is located in the Little Havana arts district and opened in April of 2010. The gallery’s primary goal is to represent and promote the artworks of local established and emerging artists from South Florida and throughout the globe. The gallery showcases a new emerging artist the last Friday of each month and has been doing so for the past eight years. Galeria Adelmo offers private painting lessons, intimate group painting parties, as well as a Saturday morning group art class.
