ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Andrew Acquadro’s latest work brings back to life the exotic images of his travels and the beautiful memories forever ingrained in the chambers of his mind. Alluring landscapes, soothing horizons, and the wonderful otherness of time and space are at the core of this show.
This quasi-nostalgic and often hypnotic remembrance gives Acquadro’s work a lurking aura, a double-edged romantic wish that travelling can be again what it once was. Inspired by over 20 years spent traveling, Andrew’s work represents an incredible collection of fascinating memories from all over the world.
Art is an endless source of creativity. An empty canvas is a place for me to experiment with anything that comes to mind. Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started painting and drawing at a young age, majored in art history in college, and spent summers in Italy with my family looking at original Italian masterpieces. Growing up in Washington, DC meant I also had unlimited access to amazing (and free!) art museums. I am fortunate to be able to experience and appreciate art, in some form, every day.
Andrew Acquadro’s art is currently displayed in Washington DC at Studio Gallery and in Miami at Adelmo Gallery
