Born in Costa Rica, Walter Riera has always had a passion for the arts. From an early age, Walter has always found joy in the act of escaping into one’s own world while drawing. In 2011, Walter found the hobby of customizing action figures and statues very fascinating and began to learn the craft.
Part of the fascination was in the fact that it combined multiple disciplines into one. The initial engineering of creating/constructing a custom action figure/statue mixed with the sculpting and painting of the final product became a fun new world to become creative in.
In 2015, Walter had the privilege of running into Antonio del Moral at his Little Havana studio, Galeria Adelmo. Soon thereafter, Walter began taking lessons with Maestro Antonio every Saturday morning. This allowed Walter to finally dive into the world of painting with acrylic unto paper and canvas.
Since then, he continues to paint under the guidance of Maestro Antonio and has produced several paintings. Most of these paintings have been sold to private collectors and some have been commissioned artworks.
