An Exhibition of Breast Cancer Awareness Art

About the Exhibition:

Galeria Adelmo is proud to present an exhibition of breast cancer awareness art, fundraiser and concert. The Journey to New Beginnings is a collection of high relief sculptures, paintings, drawings, mixed media, prints and photography that chronicle the journey of women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. A circuit of stacked art feature the stages of diagnosis, treatment, remission, and transformation. The exhibition affords viewers intimate glimpses into our lives. The Journey to New Beginnings is in honor of sculptor Sandra Joy Perini RIP, who recently died of metastatic breast cancer.

About the Artists:

The 11 artists include the works of 7 women affected by cancer, in addition to artists promoting breast cancer awareness. The exhibition emphasizes the importance of early detection that ultimately save lives. The high relief sculptures of Sandra Perini bookend the tour of the exhibition, from her “Women of Faith” to the “Tree of Life”, a sculpture that symbolizes Hope.

Participating artists featured include Olga Bussot, Puchi Noriega, Alina Ko, Rosaria Aestus Vigorito, Caryn Frishman, Macarena Zilveti, Ileana Collazo, Sonia Sanchez Nieto, Kelly Fawaz, and Shahina Siddiqi.

Y2T Media is the sponsor of the exhibition. Teo Freytes of MSA Xperimental Magazine will be producing a feature about the event. Angela R. Taylor, CEO of ARTfullAngels, Inc. is the exhibition’s partner, a nonprofit that provides free financial support for screening mammography, diagnostic breast imaging and breast cancer care to uninsured women. Fatima Canovas has donated her time and services by featuring the exhibition on Art Daily News International Magazine. The Journey coordinated and curated by Alina Ko and Robert Anthony Montesino, with assistance from David Chaskes of Y2T Media.
