Galeria Adelmo has been sharing with you wonderful artwork from emerging artists over the past decade through our monthly solo artist exhibitions, and now beginning in 2020 we are featuring even more fascinating artists. 

Galeria Adelmo is pleased to present the specialized photography of Philip Avello. The opening night artist reception and exhibition is on Friday, February 28, and the exhibition runs through March 23, 2020.   There will be a star performance by legionary jazz guitarist John Hart, one of the most prolific and versatile guitarists on the jazz scene today. John can burn his way through blues changes on a level of George Benson and Pat Martino.  Come hear John during the Opening Night of Con El Alma y El Lente and see the intriguing photos on view of legendary jazz artists by Philip Avello.

Artist

Philip S. Avello was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba in 1950.  He migrated with his family to the United States and grew into a native New Yorker, graduating with a Bachelor’s and Masters of Fine Arts in 1976.  Avello had his first one-man show of both drawings and sculpture in New York in 1974.  During his graduate studies, Avello was a member of the Winter Gallery in Soho New York.

The gallery showcases a new emerging artist the last Friday of each month with a Featured Artist Reception and Opening Night Exhibition. Galeria Adelmo also offers private painting lessons, intimate group painting parties, as well as a Saturday morning group art class.
